Default "Landing Lights" My New Album - Original Artwork

I have pretty much finished all of the artwork for my upcoming album, Landing Lights. Below is a small representation of each part of the cd/case and an explanation for each that you look at.

Here is the original photograph I took, at a mall parking lot, near sunset:

Here is the actual front cover of the CD case after photoshop:

Here is the the CD itself:

Here is the inside of the case, as it will appear beneath the CD:

Here is the back of the case as it will appear, when finalized in manufacturing, with tracklisting, etc:

360 by 360 is the rez you'll need for an actual CD case. I've done a few to scrap some cash from crappy local bands.

The only thing that pops out at me is that you should remove the remnants of the pole that is (was) holding up the lights in the original photo, it looks odd just...as that white/blue line interrupting that one light in the two photoshopped images. Remove that with your handy dandy patch tool/smudge tool and things'll look fine to me.

Also it looks a little odd just kinda inverted like that, maybe if you went over the lights and edited the color overlays to a solid color (like all blue or pink or something) it'd look a little better, and add to the "simple" feel to the whole thing.

Actually, I shouldn't have posted this thread to begin with. Lesson learned.

Those are good pointers there

Also there's a saying that goes... "Friends don't let friends use lens flare."

Your grasp of modern artistic thinking is not as deep as my pocket. In other words, the edited mall lamp was to simulate a landing ship. Eat something with less narcotics within it.

People get ruthlessly made fun of for using Lens Flare because it is a dark, forbidden art of Photoshopery.

It is a path of sorrow, deception, and torment. Seriously, SOT, it's not too late to retain your humanity. God will still forgive you, even if you used Lens Flare.

SOT chill out, so a few people put forth some helpful and relatively supportive comments on your work. Don't throw a fit because we didn't praise the ground the...artist, in this case, walks on. As previously stated, if it's meant to represent landing lights, I'd definately remove the remnants of the pole. And perhaps the actual render lights option would work better instead of lens flares because they're right, it is pretty overused. Though the light renders would require some sort of background to make it look decent.

Everyone's got their own opinion, SOT, remember that. Just because they think you should change something doesn't mean they're not...equally "godly" in artistic ability as yourself.
